About the Event
GCW Members, have you heard the Pownalborough Courthouse (PCH) Garden Team is hosting a Garden PARTY on Tuesday, July 15th? We are calling our gathering A~Picnic~by~the~River and you are now officially invited!
The Pownalborough Courthouse Garden, located near Dresden, is sited on the east bank of the Kennebec River. Do you know that the historic Pownalborough Courthouse in Dresen was built in the 1760’s? The Courthouse was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1970 and is the only surviving courthouse built during the colonial period in Maine. It is now a museum owned and operated by the Lincoln County Historical Association.
The garden takes its inspiration from an 18th-century garden. Since 2010, the Garden Club of Wiscasset has planned, planted and maintained the garden and grape arbor.
