Studying on the Grass

Academic Scholarships for local students

The Garden Club of Wiscasset awards scholarships to students majoring in horticulture, botany, or environmental sciences, graduating from high schools in towns in which our garden club members live (including, but not necessarily limited to: Wiscasset, Alna, Westport Island, Edgecomb, Damariscotta, and Newcastle).

Payment will be made in the second semester, provided the student is in good academic standing and is enrolled in one of the above-mentioned courses. Additionally, a scholarship may be made available to a previous year's recipient, provided he or she is in good academic standing and is enrolled in one of the above-mentioned courses.​

Scholarship Application Process

A completed application must include the following materials, received by the April 1st deadline:

  • Education Scholarship Application Form

  • Grade Transcript(s)

  • Applicant Letter

  • Three (3) Letters of Recommendation

​

Applications may submit the Application Form and supporting documents by mail or online. 

Apply by Mail

1) Download the Application Form (PDF).

​

2) Print, complete, and sign the form.

​

3) Mail the completed Application Form and listed supporting documents to our P.O. Box Address (found on the application).

1) Submit the Application Form online.

​

2) Follow the instructions in your confirmation email to submit the supporting materials online.​
