Studying on the Grass

Academic Scholarships for local students

The Garden Club of Wiscasset awards two academic scholarships for $5,000 each to students pursuing studies in environmental and/or horticultural-related fields. Those eligible are high school students and high school graduates that reside in or attend high school in Lincoln County, Maine. The scholarship is renewable if eligibility requirements are met.

Payment will be made at the beginning of each semester, provided the student is in good academic standing and is enrolled in one of the above-mentioned studies. Additionally, a scholarship may be made available to a previous year's recipient, provided he or she is in good academic standing and is enrolled in one of the above-mentioned studies.​​

Scholarship Application Process

A completed application must include the following materials, received by the May 1st deadline:

  • Education Scholarship Application Form

  • Grade Transcript(s)

  • Applicant Letter

  • Three (3) Letters of Recommendation

Applications may submit the Application Form and supporting documents by mail or online.

1) Download the Application Form (PDF).

2) Print, complete, and sign the form.

​

3) Mail the completed Application Form and listed supporting documents to our P.O. Box Address (found on the application).

2) Follow the instructions in your confirmation email to submit the supporting materials online.​
