About the Event
Soil Health for the Home Gardener
As gardeners we are used to thinking of soil in the context of our gardens; more broadly soil helps provide us with clear air and water, food for us and for wildlife, and beautiful landscapes. No matter if we’re growing edible crops or ornamental crops, annuals or perennials, soil provides nutrients, water and support that plants need. It’s also the home of the soil food web, sequesters carbon and filters contaminants. In this workshop Participants will gain hands-on experience assessing soil health and making informed decisions about management practices that will care for their soil.
