A crew of hardy GCW members and guests—Jan and Larry Flowers, Ann and Mark Light, Sheila Scott, and Canny Cahn—visited the one-of-a-kind home of Geneie Everett and Peter Arnold on February 11. Two informative tutorials and a luscious potluck lunch (anchored by Geneie’s remarkable vegetable soup) proved to be both practical and eye-opening.
After an orientation talk on the properties of BioChar, Peter put his visitors to work cooking brush in his self-designed burn pit. Geneie then led a tour of her multi-zoned drip irrigation system and the tinkertoy-like nozzles and tubes she uses for various feeding modalities. Both presentations were carefully planned and presented. Our group came away eager to put both lessons to use; BioChar is an efficient and Earth-friendly nurturing supplement and drip irrigation is a critical solution to our climate change drought issues.
To give us a headstart on improving our earth and our Earth, Peter presented every attendee with a starter bag of BioChar. Please take time to watch this YouTube link to understand why BioChar is good not just for your plants, but for the planet.
