The leaves are changing and temperatures are falling. What a glorious time of the year! Living in Mid-Coast Maine is such a treat. I am overwhelmed seeing the colors changing daily in our gardens and along the roadways. I hope you all are enjoying being part of this autumn wonder. It was delightful getting to know some of our new members: Amanda Dawnrich, Laura Needling, Kenny McDonald, and Anita Wright who braved the wea
ther gathering at Ann Light’s house on Sept. 25th. We will have another opportunity at February’s Potluck meeting to hopefully get to know better those who couldn’t attend . Have you registered yet for the GCFM Fall Conference happening on Wednesday, October 22nd in Sydney, ME? Great speakers, lunch and mingling with other gardeners… what more could you ask for! Register on-line at mainegardenclubs.org by Oct. 15th. Let me know if you are planning to attend so we can carpool, if you like. Our community gardens will be needing some last of the season care (cutting back, pulling those last pesky weeds, rolling up the hoses, etc.). Please watch for dates and times in upcoming emails (Pownalborough Courthouse Garden clean-up is Oct. 9th at 9:30 am). Final “chirp” - GCW is forming a Therapeutic Gardening committee and we would love to have your input. This ad hoc committee would help guide GCW in implementing therapeutic concepts into our community gardens and growing new projects. Have questions? Please give Geneie Everett, Justin Laurion or Sheila Scott a call. Growing together, Sheila
