The Garden Club of Wiscasset’s Therapeutic Gardening Committee is buzzing with excitement. The committee has been invited by the Eldercare Network of Lincoln County to integrate gardening as an essential part of their new innovative program focused on brain health. The site, called Wiscasset Green, was a highly regarded assisted-living facility that served the Wiscasset community for 25 years. The remodeled facility is reopening as a Brain Health Center this summer. Several accessible garden-related activities will be integrated as vital elements into their new program, which is designed to help reverse cognitive decline. This collaboration marks a significant step forward in supporting brain health through therapeutic gardening.
