Has Spring finally sprung?

I am holding my breath that it won’t freeze anymore. Seedlings are taking off in the dining room, and I want to move them outside, but I am a little leery of what Mother Nature has in store for us…

Our 35th Annual Plant Sale is Saturday, May 9th, rain or shine. Many thanks to those who contribute their time, plants, and baked goods to support our scholarship fund.

Looking ahead to June, please see the invitation to our Appreciation Luncheon on Thursday, June 4th. Come join the fun and celebrate all the good folks who make up GCW and bring joy to our community. Please RSVP by May 24th

Lisa is putting the final touches on the Yearbook, which will be given out at our June luncheon. We need 1 last person to step up to help host a meeting. What a great opportunity to get to know members of GCW. You bring a dish to share, serve the coffee/tea, and yes, wash a few dishes…are you willing to serve on April 1st? Click on the link or call Lisa Freeman. We also need to fill one Library Flower spot for March 16. Just bring a floral arrangement to the Wiscasset Public Library. It’s a great way to hone your floral design skills and use that cool container/vase shoved in the back of your cupboard that needs a dusting off! Plus, the staff and patrons so appreciate the effort made to bring a little flower joy to the library.

The Therapeutic Gardening committee’s Wiscasset Green project is well underway. The facility is hosting two Open Houses in June, so the community can see what will take place at the new Brain Health Center. The dates are Friday, June 5th or 12th, from 4-5 pm. Come see what the buzz is all about… “The first day of spring is one thing, and the first spring day is another. The difference between them is sometimes as great as a month.” - Henry Van Dyke

Or for Maine, it may be two months!

Growing together,

- Sheila
